The Waterpark
Grad Sunca's Aqua Park, also known as "Sunčana Vrela," is a standout feature of the resort complex near Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Spanning eight hectares, it is one of the largest aqua parks in the Balkans and has the capacity to host up to 2,000 visitors daily. The park is home to a variety of pools, each tailored to different age groups and preferences. The Black Hole Slide is an enclosed tube that delivers a twisting, darkened ride from a height of 17 meters across 130 meters of length. The Big Twister Slide starts at a height of 24 meters, providing a winding and dynamic descent over 140 meters. Two rafting slides, starting at heights of 10 and 12 meters, offer adventurous raft-based sliding experiences. For younger visitors, the park includes six specially designed children’s slides under the "Kids Slides" category, ensuring fun and safety for the little ones. However, it's worth noting that the location of this waterpark is close to the border of both Croatia and Montenegro so it's feasible with a car to simply come here for the day.

Apis Hotel is in a fantastic location, it's quiet and peaceful yet conveniently close to Trebinje's centre, offering easy access to restaurants and shops. The rooms are generally clean and comfortable although they may be a bit on the small side. They should certainly have all the amenities you need such as hairdryers and mini-fridges. One thing you can be guaranteed is friendly and helpful staff, the atmosphere feels welcoming atmosphere straight away and there is and a willingness to assist guests with their needs. Breakfast is good enough and allows its residents to choose from a menu. The older thing to note is that there's no lift which might be a concern for guests with heavy luggage or mobility limitations. Overall, Apis hotel is a solid choice for budget-conscious travellers seeking a clean, comfortable, and friendly stay in Trebinje.
Herceg Vila is another option if you want a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The property offers a tranquil escape, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the serenity of Trebinje. Like the Apis Hotel, the rooms are generally clean and comfortable although they may be a bit on the small side. The property is located conveniently in the city centre so is within easy reach of restaurants and shops, offering the best of both worlds: peace and accessibility. There is no breakfast included with this property but there is a mini kitchen, table and chairs so you can easily prepare yourself with supermarket items.

Organised Trips and Tours
We wouldn't advise booking any organised trips from Trebinje. This is still an undiscovered area of the world and you'll notice a distinct lack of commercialism, any trips will be vastly overpriced due to a lack of competition. If you are desperate to do something, and we'd advise it, the area is beautiful, you are better going from Dubrovnik. Getting there is going to be tough unless you have a car because a 30 minute journey may take 3 or 4 hours on public transport.
Car Hire
The chances are you've landed in Dubrovnik if you are staying in the southern part of neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina. By renting a car from Dubrovnik Airport you'll find a variety of car rental companies, ensuring you find the perfect vehicle to suit your needs and budget. Compare prices, vehicle types, and insurance options to select the best deal. Once you've collected your rental car, head south from Dubrovnik towards the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The drive offers stunning coastal scenery, with opportunities to stop for photos along the way. Be prepared for the road to narrow and wind as you approach the border. The border crossing between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina requires your passport and any necessary travel documents. The process can take some time, so factor this into your travel schedule. While Croatian roads are generally good, expect some differences in road quality as you enter Bosnia and Herzegovina. Be cautious of narrower roads and potential traffic.
